숭덕문

Definition

계조당(繼照堂) 터에서 자선당으로 가는 길에 처음 만나는 문이다. 근정전의 동쪽 담과 동궁의 서쪽 담 사이에 있으며, 융문루에서 북쪽으로 조금 가면 나온다. 언제 만들었는지는 알 수 없다. 1870(고종 7)년에 숭덕문에 관한 기사가 『일성록』에 나오는 것으로 보아, 경복궁 중건 때 만들어진 것으로 판단된다.
