건춘문

Definition

경복궁의 동쪽 궁문이다. 서쪽의 영추문과 짝을 이룬다. 오행(五行)에서 동쪽을 상징하는 계절이 봄이므로 이와 같이 이름지은 것이다. 경복궁 창건 당시 세웠던 문은 임진왜란 때 불탔으며, 고종 때 중건한 지금의 문은 정면 3칸 측면 2칸의 건물을 돌로 된 석문 위에 세운 것이다.
