Definition
1781년(정조 5) 형조판서 김노진(金魯鎭)의 위촉을 받아 형조좌랑 박일원(朴一源)이 형조를 비롯한 소속 관청의 주요업무와 각종 판례를 모아 종합적으로 서술한 책으로, 1791년(정조 15)에 중보되었다. 본문은 5편으로 구성되어 있으며, 10권 10책으로 편찬하였다. 수록된 판례는 ≪심리록 審理錄≫·≪흠흠신서 欽欽新書≫와 함께 당시 형사 재판의 실제와 가족 제도·생활 규범·가치관 등을 연구하는 데 귀중한 자료가 된다. 1939년 조선총독부 중추원에서 증보, 사본을 활자본으로 간행했으며, 1975년 법제처에서 전문을 번역해 원문과 함께 ≪법제자료≫ 75∼78집 4책으로 간행되었다.
