Definition
사층왜찬합(四層倭饌榼)은 4층으로 된 일본산 찬합이다. 찬합은 반찬을 여러 층의 그릇에 담아 포개어 담거나 운반할 수 있게 만든 용기이다. 1887년(고종 24) 1월 27일 경복궁 만경전에서 열린 정일진찬 때 신정왕후에게 올린 대왕대비전진어과합의 음식을 담는 용도로 사용되었다. 사층왜찬합에는 약과, 각색다식, 각색당, 각색절육 등 4종류의 음식을 담았다.
