연길당 현판

Definition

‘연길(延吉)’은 ‘복을 맞아 들인다’는 의미이다. ‘연(延)’은 ‘맞아들이다’, ‘길(吉)’은 ‘복’을 뜻한다. 현판은 1995년에 설치하였으며, 서예가 김훈곤(金勳坤)이 쓰고 오옥진이 새겼다. ‘吉(길)’ 자의 윗 부분이 표준 서체는 ‘士(사)’이지만 여기서는‘土(토)’의 형태를 취했다. 서법에서 흔히 나타나는 속체이다.
