중명전 현판

Definition

‘중명(重明)’은 ‘광명이 계속 이어져 그치지 않는다’ 또는 ‘해와 달’이란 의미다. 『주역(周易)』 '이(離)'괘의 단사(彖辭)에 “이(離)는, 붙어 있다는 뜻이다. 해와 달이 하늘에 붙어 있고, 백곡과 초목이 땅에 붙어 있으니, 거듭 밝음으로, 바름에 붙어서, 천하를 교화하여 이룬다는 풀이가 나와 있다. 현재 중명전에는 2010년 8월 복원된 현판이 걸려있다.
