12지신-호랑이 석상

Definition

12지신-호랑이 석상은 지기(地氣)인 십이지(十二支)를 관장하는 동물 중에서 호랑이를 돌에 새겨 세워놓은 조각상이다. 호랑이는 동북쪽과 인시(寅時)를 상징하는 동물로서, 특히 경복궁 근정전 남쪽의 하월대에서 계단 위에 배치되어 세워져 있다.
