곡와

Definition

등이 굽은 기와로 굽은 모양이 말의 안장을 닮았다고 하여 안장기와 또는 무량갓기와라고 한다. 지붕에 용마루를 조성하지 않고 마무리하는 방식으로 지은 전각을 <궁궐지>에 의하면 무량각無樑閣으로 부르고 있는데, 경복궁 강녕전과 교태전, 창덕궁 대조전, 창경궁 통명전 등 침전의 전각들이 이에 해당한다. ·
