Definition
광화문은 경복궁의 정문이다. 1395(태조4)년 9월29일 실록의 기사에서는 정전(正殿)인 근정전과 편전(便殿)인 사정전, 침전(寢殿)인 경성전, 연생전, 강녕전을 지어 궁궐의 기본 구조를 갖춘 다음, 궁성을 쌓은 후 동 서 남쪽에 궁문을 세우고, 동문을 건춘문, 서문을 영추문.[1], 남문을 사정문(四正門)으로 이름 붙였다.
세종때 집현전에서 올려 지은 이름으로 사정문(四正門)에서 광화문(光化門)으로 바뀌었다.
