Definition
세종 28년(1446) 1월에 검게 염색한 조의(皁衣)를 만들어 입기 시작한 것이 흑단령의 시작이다. 이후 용도에 의해 단령의 색상이 분화하였다가 고종 21년 갑신의제개혁에 관원의 시복과 상복의 복색을 흑단령 하나로 통일하게 된다.[1]
