정희왕후

Definition

정희왕후(貞熹王后, 1418~1483) 조선 제7대 왕 세조의 비. 본관 파평(坡平). 판중추부사 증영의정 윤번(尹璠)의 딸이다. 1428년 수양대군과 혼인하여 삼한국대부인(三韓國大夫人)이 되었다.

1452년 수양대군이 김종서를 제거하는 일을 적극 도왔다. 1455년 왕비에 책봉되었고 이어서 자성(慈聖)이라는 존호를 받았다. 예종 사후 덕종(德宗)의 둘째 아들 자을산군(者乙山君)을 지목하여 성종이 되게 하였다. 당시 성종이 13세여서 정희왕후는 7년 동안 섭정을 했다. 덕종·예종과 의숙공주(懿淑公主) 등 2남1녀를 두었다. 능호는 광릉(光陵)이다. [네이버 지식백과] 정희왕후 [貞熹王后] (한국민족문화대백과, 한국학중앙연구원)
