Definition

경성의 5대 백화점 중 하나인 조지야(丁子屋)백화점의 전신으로 고바야시(小林)일가에 의해 설립되었다. 창업주인 고바야시는 1929년 9월에는 양복점을 경영하다가 주식회사 조지야(丁子屋) 상점을 개점하였는데, 1934년 3월에 50만 원이었던 자본금이 1939 년에는 250만 원으로 증자되었고, 같은 해 9월에는 남대문로 2가에 현대식 대형 점포를 신축하여 이전하였다. 이후 조지야는 2002년까지 존속한 미도파 백화점으로 이어졌다. 조선박람회에 출품하였다.
