광명문 현판

Definition

광명(光明)’은 ‘밝은 빛’또는 '밝게 빛난다'는 의미다. 『주역』 '겸(謙)' 괘의 단사(彖辭) 를 보면“천도(天道)는 아래로 교제하여 광명(光明)하고, 지도(地道)는 낮아 위로 행한다.”고 하여, 광명을 ‘천도가 아래로 밝게 펴진 상태’로 풀이하고 있다.
