==Definition==

형(鉶)은 조선시대 국가 제사를 지낼 때 [[화갱|화갱(和羹)]]을 담는 제기이다. [[예서|『예서(禮書)』]]에 ‘형정(鉶鼎)은 국[羹]을 담는 것이요, 형갱(鉶羹)은 오미(五味)를 갖추어 끓인 국이다. 국을 일컬을 때는 형갱이라 하고, 그릇을 지칭할 때는 형정이라 한다.’고 하였다. 또 주희(朱熹)의 제자인 [[황간|황간(黃幹)]]의 [[의례경전통해속|『의례경전통해속(儀禮經傳通解續)』]]의 주(注)에 ‘화갱이란 형에 담은 국이니 오미가 조화되고, 날고기의 삶은 것이 적절함을 얻은 것이다.’라고 하였다. 형은 국을 담는 등(㽅)과 짝을 이루어 각각의 제사에서 동일 수량으로 진설되었고, 상호 밀접한 연관성을 지녀서 ‘등’과 함께 거론되었다. 형은 오미를 갖춘 화갱을 담았고, 등은 조미하지 않은 대갱(大羹)을 담았다.<ref>이현진, "[http://encysillok.aks.ac.kr/Contents/index?Contents_id=00013381 형]", <html><online style="color:purple">『조선왕조실록사전』online</online></html>, 한국학중앙연구원.</ref>
