정의
'갓머더(God Mother, '대모 代母')'는 보드카와 아마레토로 구성된 갓파더의 변종 칵테일이다. 보통 어름이 있는 올드패션 잔에 서빙한다.
유래
갓파더(대부 代父)는 아마레토와 스카치 위스키로 구성되어 있지만 '갓머더'는 위스키 대신 보드카를 사용한다. '프랜치커넥션'란 칵테일은 위스키 대신 공냑을 사용한다. '갓차일드(대자녀 代子女)'라는 칵테일도 있으며 위스키 대신 크림을 사용함으로써 도수가 훨씬 낮은 약한 칵테일을 만들어진다.
'갓머더'란 이름은 '갓파더'의 변종이다. '갓파더'란 이름의 어원이 불정확하나 이탈리 마피아와 관련이 있다. '더 갓파더' 영화 주인공 배우 브랜도 말른(Marlon Brando)이 제일 좋아한 칵테일이라 '갓파더'라고 했다고 한다. 또는 '갓파더'의 핵심적인 재료인 아마레토는 이탈리아 리큐어라서 이탈리 마피아와 관련한 이름을 땄다고도 한다. [1]
