"틀:선교사편지레이아웃"의 두 판 사이의 차이

I arrived here yesterday morning after a rather rough passage & am now stopping at Dr. Hepburn's. I found a letter from Dr. Allen to Dr. Hepburn in which he asked that I should go at once or as early as possible.

이곳을 향해 오는 동안 다소 고생스러웠지만 저는 어제 아침 이곳(일본의 요코하마-역자 주)에 도착하여 지금은 헵번 박사(Dr. Hepburn) 댁에 머물고 있습니다. 저는 알렌 의사(Dr. Allen)가 헵번 박사에게 보낸 편지를 보게 되었는데 그 편지에서 알렌 의사는 제가 당장 왔으면 좋겠고, 그럴 수 없다면 할 수 있는 한 빨리 오기를 바란다고 하였습니다.

There was a steamer that left here this afternoon for Nagasaki to connect with the steamer for Korea but I could hardly get what few things I may need & be off quite so soon and still further I deemed it advisable to make the acquaintance of the missionaries here & also the Koreans & Mr. Loomis had spoken about introducing me to them this week. I therefore concluded to wait for the next steamier which will be in about 2 or three weeks.

오늘 오후 이곳을 떠나 나가사키로 가는 기선이 있었습니다. 나가사키에서는 한국으로 가는 기선이 있습니다. 그런데 얼마 되지는 않지만, 필요한 것들을 구하지 못한 채 그렇게 빨리 떠나기 어려웠습니다. 게다가 저는 이곳에 있는 선교사들, 또 한국인들과 안면을 익히는 게 좋으리라고 생각했습니다. 그리고 루미스 씨(Mr. Loomis)는 이번 주에, 그분들에게 저를 소개시켜 주겠다고 했습니다. 그래서 저는 2주 내지 3주 후에 있을 다음 번 기선을 기다리기로 하였습니다.
